How this is calculated
Income tax bands (2026)
20% up to your standard rate cut-off point, 40% above. Single: €44,000. Married (one income): €53,000. One-parent/widowed parent: €48,000. Reduced by your tax credits: €2,000 personal + €2,000 PAYE (single); €4,000 married credit + €2,000 PAYE (married); €2,000 personal + €1,900 single person child carer + €2,000 PAYE (one-parent).
USC (2026)
Exempt if total income ≤€13,000. Otherwise: 0.5% on the first €12,012, 2% on the next band up to €28,700, 3% up to €70,044, 8% above. The reduced-rate option caps USC at 2% on income up to €60,000 for those aged 70+ or with a full medical card.
PRSI (Class A, 2026)
4.2% until 30 September, rising to 4.35% from 1 October 2026 — this calculator uses the officially blended full-year rate of 4.2375%. No PRSI applies if weekly earnings are €352 or less; a tapered PRSI credit between €352–€424/week is not modelled here.
What this doesn't include
Pension contributions, benefit-in-kind, the two-earner married band, and other salary deductions are not modelled. This is a simplified annual estimate, not a payslip.

This calculator is provided for general guidance only and does not constitute tax advice. It's a simplified annual estimate — your actual payslip may differ based on pension contributions, benefit-in-kind, and your specific tax credit certificate. Confirm your position with Revenue or your accountant.
